A very convenient way to visit the Palace of Versailles: the bus takes you to Versailles, get inside the Palace by skipping the main line and then explore the Palace on your own, with an audio guide. 4-hour long tour. Departure from central Paris.

When the bus arrives at Versailles, you will enter the palace skipping the long line at the entrance, and will be provided with an audio guide. Explore the Palace and the gardens of Versailles on your own, without being rushed or having to adjust to the group schedule.

The same bus will transport you back to central Paris.

The Palace of Versailles was the residence of the Kings of France Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI from 1682 until the French Revolution in 1789. Explore the architecture, decorations, works of art as you walk through the palace (it has over 700 rooms!).

Visit the Coronation Room and the Queen's Bedroom, once occupied by Queen Marie Antoinette. Spend time at the Hall of Mirrors, designed by the famous architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart. It is lit by 17 windows and 350 mirrors, with breathtaking views of the palace's beautiful gardens.

Afterwards, spend some time in the famous Versailles gardens that dates back to 1661, when Louis XIV commissioned the gardener André Le Nôtre to layout the grounds for the gardens. There are some 200 statues in the gardens. The fountains and beautiful flowerbeds complement the beautiful landscape.

Please note there is an extra charge to enter the gardens during the special events held at the Palace, during public holidays and some weekends. The charge may vary, but is usually less than EUR10. The fee is payable at the Palace,

Some recommendations:

  • It is strongly advised against wearing high-heel shoes (parquet flooring in the rooms and cobblestones in the courtyard)
  • Strollers are not permitted inside the palace
  • Access to the palace is challenging for those with reduced mobility
  • Photography without flash is permitted inside the palace
  • Tuesday mornings are not recommended due to the high number of visitors

After you purchase a tour online, you will receive a confirmation voucher. Please present it at the departure point on the day of the tour. The bus leaves from 2 rue des Pyramides 75001 Paris (not far from the Louvre Museum). The trip is 4 hours long.
