The Orsay Museum

1 Rue de la Légion d'Honneur, 75007 Paris France

Musée d'Orsay, the Orsay Museum, is one of the most popular museums in Paris. Enjoy the masterpieces by Van Gogh, Degas, Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat and many others.

The current building of the museum used to be a train station, Gare D'Orsay. It could no longer be used as it had short platforms, and following a number of historic events, the building finally re-opened as a museum in 1986.

Because the Orsay museum is one of the most popular museums in the world, it is best to get your tickets before a visit to the museum. Buy ticket online, or visit Paris Tourism Office at 25 rue des Pyramides 75001 Paris.

If you plan to visit many museums during your trip to Paris, it is best to buy the Paris Museum Pass: it includes admission to the Musée d'Orsay and some 60 other museums.

To see the list of current and upcoming exhibitions and events at the Orsay Museum, check their website.
